I was speaking to Professor W. They said they had been invited to Syria to work. That large centres of human population and normal life sit alongside war zones but people just get on with things seemingly unbothered. I was thinking about how as society collapses that pockets of relative normality co-exist with carnage. Like a weird spaghetti map of cities that are still functioning and metropolises plunged into anarchy. A weird complex mosaic patchwork quilt of complications and difficulties. The world gets more fractal, fragmented and Uber-complex. A smashed mirror.
