In the anthropologists home

Light. Books everywhere. A cityscape. Buildings clambering into the sky. This is 2075. Outside is North Korea. A butchered landscape. Total authoritarian control. Street food. Vendors. Parks & canals.

Inside the anthropologist reads their books, stepping in time streams and dilations. Looking for a star map to find a way home. “You can always get home, if you accept that home is somewhere you have never been before”. Gulfs of time. Parsecs.

Here in the battered Victorian city. Property developers sprout. Arab and Chinese. A rich Italian coffee, a book and Morrissey on the radio. This is the anthropologists house.

[quote from U.K. Le Guin]
